I was thinking of wrapping the headers until I read about the fire risk because of oil trapping on the tape. f1rocks then said to just wrap the header by the oil filter. Anyone any suggestions? I got the 2 inch DEI tape with the aerosol sealant.

Mine are wrapped w/no problems. I also used the DEI stuff with the spray coating, but I used a combination of 1" and 2" in order to get a nice tidy wrap.

I wrapped mine because Norm wrapped his and I do whatever Norm does (except post his lap times:dry:).

My engine builder had a hard time getting one of them off the engine the last time he worked on the car. He believes it warped because of the heat wrap and it was a total loss. Did the heat wrap cause the warping? I don't know for sure but have not wrapped them since.
