I finally got all those lifters cleaned up and ready to go. There was 208 lifters in the buckets.

Here's what I did......
I cleaned up all the lifters and inspected them.





I threw away quite a few, 72 in all. Some had rust on the outside, some were dented, some had just came apart.





I took a pump oil can





I filled each lifter through the hole.





Those that didn't pump up I threw away, the rest I set aside and let sit for a day. Ones that stayed pumped up I put in one pile and ones that bleed back down overnight in another.

I have 5 sets that stayed pumped up overnight.

I have 10 sets that will bleed back down overnight, but will pump up again with oil pressure.

I've only posted this here on the 944-Spec board. I'd like to give first crack at these to fellow racers who need them before I post them for sale elsewhere. I've checked eBay prices and the lowest I've found is $50 + shipping for a used set.

That's a great deal, Ken, especially for the work put in in sorting them. I have one good set of used lifters, but I'm sure that there are other who could use a spare set, as they are no longer available

Me too and you can save shipping since Jerry and I race together. We can divvy them up at the track.
